Studio Modifications in Response to COVID-19

Our response to COVID-19 is fluid and will be modified as recommended by advisory council. Studio setting class offerings are contingent upon our locations being open for group gatherings and children's programming.

At this time, our studio is offering virtual classes. We hope to resume in-person classes shortly after the New Year.

Once we are able to have in-person, studio setting classes, this will also assume the recommended 14 day decrease in positive cases for Douglas County and low risk of spreading as indicated at https://www.douglascountyhealth.com/ .

Social Distancing Connecting with others makes our community so special and we know it's one of the big reasons you've decided to join our classes. We also know infants, toddlers, and young children are hard-wired to explore, engage, and connect with their environments. In an effort to provide comfortable spacing for all families in class, our class sizes for Foundations-Level 2 have been reduced by 50% (maximum of 6 children) and Levels 3-5 have been reduced by 35% (maximum of 6 children). One adult will accompany each child. The seating area outside of classrooms will be spaced apart and the time between classes has been increased to at least 20 minutes to reduce overlapping of class groups.

Masks At this time masks will be required on all adults and educators. Masks will be optional for children (up to each parent/grandparent) in Levels 3-5 if masks are tolerated well by the child. Masks will not be worn by anyone under 2 years.

Instruments & Materials Our studio is well equipped with a large stock of the variety of instruments and materials used in class. In Foundations - Level 2 classes, your educator will hand out instruments to each family and then will collect them individually from each family. Our ritual of coming to the center of the classroom to let children get their own instruments will be modified for the time being. We're looking forward to developing fresh rituals with you! Our Level 3-5 students will utilize individual materials bins prepared by the educators.

Sanitation Each classroom will be equipped with a sanitation station to include hand sanitizer, tissues, sanitary wipes, gloves, paper towels, and a used instrument bin (for instruments that might become extra soiled and need to be replaced during an activity). As always, your educators will sanitize every instrument used in class. Additionally, all common surfaces will be cleaned. We're developing comprehensive sanitation schedules with our locations. Water fountains will not be available for use.

Class Offerings We are offering both in-person and secure online classes. Our online classes will be the same length of time as in-person classes. We're also able to transition all studio setting classes to our secure virtual classrooms if our community response calls for this at any point during the year. Make-up classes will be done in our virtual classroom and all enrolled families can attend a virtual class of the same level at any time.

At this time we will not utilize no-touch thermometers. We do request all attending family members take temperatures before leaving home to come to class that day. Our educators will make the same courtesy.

Register Early:

Priority Registration will be given to existing (in-studio) families first. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis w/online registration. Although you may join our classes online at any time, we encourage you to register early since class size is limited and may fill quickly. A minimum of four students is needed or the class will be cancelled. We make every effort to find an alternative class time that will work for your family.

Billing:

Your monthly fee includes tuition plus required home materials (with shipping, handling and tax) from Kindermusik International. Total class cost is divided into eight equal payments and will be charged the end of each month for the upcoming month. For the 2020-21 Academic the payments are divided into 8 equal payments, with the final payment due at the end of March.  Though payments occur monthly, they do not reflect a certain number of classes/month. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, checks, Venmo, and Paypal. Withdrawals will show up under the name "SimplySignup" on your statement. A separate registration fee reserves a place for your child in the class of your choice, and is non-refundable.The registration fee is to be paid when registration is submitted. Late payments (if not received by 10th of month) incur a $20/month late fee. Any return checks are charged $35.

Discounts:

"Referral Reward" - $10 for each registered referral...ALWAYS!

"Second-Time-Around" discount: If you have any of your child's Digital Home materials from a previous enrollment OR if enrolling siblings in the SAME CLASS, please indicate on your priority registration form or your registration page on the website and your monthly payment will be adjusted. (summer included). This discount applies to Digital Home materials only and excludes the physical materials for Level 4 & 5 Young Child classes.

Class Withdrawal:

Your spot is always saved for you while enrolled, but if you need to discontinue your enrollment at any time, just let us know in writing (email or snail mail) at least a week before the 1st of the new month to avoid incurring charges for the new month. If you decide to re-enroll at a later time during the session, a $12 re-enrollment fee will be applied to your account.

Healthy & Happy Guidelines:

According to Kindermusik International guidelines, each adult and child must apply hand sanitizer before class. Please do not come to class if your child has had fever/loose stools in the last 24 hours or has a contagious cough. A good guideline to follow is to be fever free for 24 hours, and for a nose not to be running with anything other than clear. It is VERY common for babies and toddlers to have runny noses due to teething and it is very hard to distinguish that from being sick. If you at all feel that your little one is under the weather, please remain home and take advantage of our unlimited make-up options. Each class has a "sanitation station" and instruments will be sanitized by your educator between each class.

Cell Phone Usage:

We kindly request our parent/caregivers to turn cell phones to vibrate or off during class and if an emergency call needs to taken, it can be done outside the classroom so as to not disturb the class. Thank you!

Policy on Non-enrolled Siblings:

Due to limited class size and the goal of one-on-one parent/child interaction, we ask that those enrolled in Foundations, Level 1, and Level 2 classes make arrangements for siblings during weekly class times. An exception can be made when the sibling is young enough to be content in a carrier during the 45 minute class. In cases where an older sibling needs to come to a particular class, (school holidays, etc.), the older sibling will be expected to sit quietly outside the class circle unless otherwise invited to participate by the educator.

Make-up classes:

Make-up classes are convenient and easy with our online classroom! Unlimited virtual makeup classes are available for any month you are enrolled. Requests for make-ups, per curricula unit, should be arranged with your teacher's educator.

Refund policy:

The registration fee is non-refundable and covers administrative and materials costs associated with enrolling. Any refunds will be applied on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances.

Refunds will not be issued for classes shifted from in-person classes to the virtual classroom due to COVID-19 during a given month.

Enrollment conditions:

With your enrollment in class(es), you agree to the following: With this enrollment, I release any and all rights and claims for damages against Overton Music Studios and its Staff in the unlikely event of injury sustained by myself or my child(ren) during the course of or as a result of this musical activity. Note: Due to the nature of our program, we will NOT delay our classes when when OPS calls for a delayed start. Also, pay particular attention to the "after school" cancellations, as they will affect our late afternoon, evening and Saturday classes. All weather-related cancellations will be made up during an extra FREE week which is built into the Kindermusik year.
